The Relationship between Low Back Pain and Lumbar Lordosis

This study aimed to determine the difference in lumbar lordotic curvature (lumbar-spine curve) in those with and without low back pain and to evaluate the confounding factors that might affect the association between lumbar lordotic curvature and low back pain.

Analysts observed a strong association between low back pain and decreased curvature, especially when compared to age-matched healthy controls. Among specific diseases, disc herniation, and degeneration were shown to be substantially associated with the loss of lumbar lordosis curvature.
