In this study physicians aimed to determine whether spine-strengthening exercises were effective for reducing extreme slouching in community-dwelling older adults.

They reported reduced kyphosis with spine-strengthening exercise and posture training over 6 months.

Their findings suggested that a targeted kyphosis-specific exercise program was probably an effective treatment option for older adults with hyperkyphosis.
