A little stress around exam times can be a good thing as it can motivate you to study. Unfortunately, sometimes this stress can get out of hand, especially towards the end of the academic year.

When your stress gets out of hand adrenaline pours through your body and keeps you on high alert. This can cause increased worry, feelings of being overwhelmed and exhaustion, loss of sleep, irritability, and forgetfulness.

All of these symptoms can negatively affect your levels of performance in exams.

It is therefore important during these high stress times to engage in self-care practices. The following simple steps can assist to reduce your exam stress:

  • Eat well
  • Engage in physical activity
  • Take regular study break
  • Ensure you get enough sleep.
