This study aimed to investigate the relationship between coffee, tea, caffeine, and the risk of hypertension. It was found that those drinking either less than 1 cup of coffee per week or more than 3 cups each day had a lower risk of hypertension than those drinking one cup of coffee per day.

It was concluded from the study that caffeine may account for increased risk of hypertension in daily tea drinkers and in those who drink one cup of coffee per day.
